Super League 2009 - Second Leg

Picture

The second leg of the Trinidad & Tobago Equestrian Association’s (TTEA’s) Super League Jumping Challenge saw many of Trinidad’s junior riders competing against one another for the top spot in this inaugural year of the Challenge.

In the Junior Category of the Challenge, Sandhya Moll, Mariel Lanser and Jade Gomez took the first through third places respectively in the 1.05m jump level, a great improvement in riding for the girls, while Cammila Garcia took first place in the 0.85m jump level, against Charlotte Morrison, Olivia Harford and Andrew Halfhide. Two of Trinidad’s youngest jumpers, Adelle Stollmeyer and Amber Thompson tied for first place in the cross-rail jump level, with Dylan Galy and Laura Morrison second and third respectively.

The Senior Category saw Christina Rostant ahead of fellow rider Garyk Jagan in the 1.05m level, and Anna Lisa De Lima taking first place in the 0.85m level, riding a relatively young horse, against Kyna Thompson, Melissa Sheppard, Steven Degheldere and Luisa Chapman.

Present at the show was Minister for Sport, the honourable Mr Gary Hunt, who expressed the Ministry’s interest in seeing that Trinidad’s riders attain an international level and that the TTEA begin to introduce equestrian sport to the community. Mr Hunt graciously presented the prizes for the events, and impressed upon the young riders the value of commitment to their sport.
