The Trinidad and Tobago Equestrian Association (TTEA) hosted the Caribbean Equestrian Association’s (CEA) Regional Dressage Challenge and Mini Dressage Competition on December 14 and 25, 2024.
This prestigious event showcased the country’s equestrian talent, as riders competed in team and individual categories across various age groups and skill levels.
FEI Level 3 Dressage judge Omar Zayrik of Mexico, visited Trinidad and Tobago to adjudicate the competition, having previously officiated in Bermuda, the Bahamas, the Cayman Islands, and Jamaica. With Barbados remaining as the final hosts, the 2024/25 competition season is nearing its conclusion.
The competition featured teams in multiple categories, including the CEA Adult team, CEA Junior team, CEA Open Freestyle team, CEA Adult Mini Dressage team, and CEA Junior Mini Dressage team. Trinidad and Tobago fielded a strong contingent, with 25 entries across all categories except the CEA Adult Mini Dressage team.
While the CEA has yet to release cumulative results, judge Zayrik expressed his confidence in T&T’s performance, particularly highlighting the encouraging results of the Junior Dressage team of Justynne Serrette Fletcher on Cape Canaveral (71.14%), Jaimie Serrette Fletcher on Takeover (70.21%) and Caitlin Whitling on Integrity (68.80%), which gave them a total score of 210.15.
